Mesa Pool Resurfacing
A new interior finish over a sound shell, planned with the rest of your remodel.
Every pool interior wears out eventually. You'll feel it first as a rough floor on your feet, then see stains, etching and small patches where the finish has lifted.
Resurfacing is the center of most of our remodels, because it's the step that happens while the pool is empty. If you want new tile, a bench or a sun shelf, it gets built before the new surface goes on.
Prep decides how long the new finish lasts. We sound the old surface, chip out hollow and loose areas to a solid base, and clean the shell before the new material is applied.

The classic smooth white finish that gives water a light, bright blue.

Plaster blended with quartz aggregate for color and a tougher surface.

Small exposed stones with a textured feel and deep water color.

Old surface removed and the shell cleaned before anything new goes on.
| Finish | Feel underfoot | Water color | Good choice for |
|---|---|---|---|
| White plaster | Smooth | Light, bright aqua | A classic look on a simple renovation |
| Quartz | Smooth to slightly textured | Light to deep blue, depending on color | Families who want color and durability |
| Pebble | Textured | Deep blue, teal or natural tones | Owners who want the longest-lasting surface |
| Polished pebble | Smoother than standard pebble | Deep, rich tones | A pebble look that's easier on feet |
Rough spots that scrape feet, stains that won't brush out, flaking patches and visible cracks in the finish are the usual signs. We check for hollow areas during the walk-through.
Pebble generally holds up longer in strong sun and hard water, and plaster costs less upfront and feels smoother. Quartz sits between the two. We'll show you samples in your own backyard light.
Most resurfacing jobs run about a week or two from drain to refill, depending on tile work and repairs. Larger remodels take longer because structural work comes first.
Yes, and it's the best time. Benches, sun shelves, bubblers and new steps are built before the new finish goes on.
